The second edition of the Montreal Classic Boat Festival will be held from August 20th to August 22nd, 2010, Quays of the Old Port of Montreal (corner of McGill and de la Commune) where over 80 classic boats will be on display. A unique opportunity to reconnect with a maritime heritage and the wonders of naval architecture!

On and off water shows, activities, exhibits, guided tours
It’s in a warm and festive atmosphere that fans and neophytes alike can admire these 80 crafts off and on water. On top of browsing the wharfs and talking to the leading captains, this year, the admission to the program is entirely free and includes a wide range of activities: a stroll aboard boats from another era, freestyle canoeing, assembling of miniature sailboats, remote control sail or motor boats, sail painting, sailor’s knot-making workshops, distribution of trophies.
Photographs from the book of maritime ethnographer Alain Franck “Naviguer sur le fleuve au temps passé 1860-1960” will also be on display at the festival.
The MCBF insists on promoting non-polluting crafts. Many Canadian and American electric boat manufacturers will display their products in the “green” Dock.
The MCBF, in collaboration with the association Voiles de l’Amitié, will welcome artists on site displaying some of their paintings and also will paint scenes of the festival during the three-day event.
Guided tours and presentations on the history and landscape of the Lachine Canal will also be offered by Parks Canada guides during the entire weekend.
